GHANA tops PAUWES Cultural Week Traditional Dance Competition

The flag of Ghana was again hoisted higher in Tlemcen, Algeria where Ghanaian students of the Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences, including Climate Change bellwether the rich tradition of Ghana at the first ever organized PAUWES Cultural Week celebration. 
The two day event which started with the wearing of traditional apparels on Tuesday was climaxed with cultural dance and traditional cuisines at the Faculty of Medicine Auditorium of Tlemcen University on Wednesday 29th November 2017 . 

Ghana emerged winners in the traditional dance, beating other twenty-eight African countries to the top. 

A blend of Adowa,Abgadza, Boboorbo, and Damba dance spiced with Azonto  sealed the deal for Ghana to emerge 2017/18 winners. 

The entire cultural celebration under the auspices of PAUWES Community of Practice (CoP) was to promote cultural integration as a conduit for peace and development for the African continent. 

Various sumptuous cuisines from different African countries were displayed at event. 

Amongst dignitaries who witnessed this maiden edition included Prof. Chewki Ziani, who serves as Deputy Director of PAUWES as well as officials from GIZ, representatives from the University of Tlemcen and students and staffs from within the University of Tlemcen, Algeria.

Expressing joy after the event, team lead for Ghana, Albert E. Agbenorhevi expressed satisfaction for the success of the entire programme, he further hinted on Ghana's desire to defend the crown in the subsequent years ahead. Team Ghana was ably represented by four beautiful females and eight energetic men clothed in various customs to reflect the identity of Ghana.
